How Would We Work Together

The most effective recruiting program takes place within a cooperative effort amongst the recruiter, human resources, the candidate, and the hiring manager. (However, we will never forget that you are the CUSTOMER.) Working together, we can achieve a successful hire that benefits all. Here is a brief outline of the processes we will carry out…. unless otherwise directed:

Position Profile
We will work with you to develop a position profile that will capture an in-depth understanding of your company, its challenges, dynamics, management style, and corporate culture. This profile helps us search for candidates that will be motivated by your business acumen to achieve success quickly.

The Qualified Few vs. the Qualified Many
In today's competitive DoD and Primes marketplace, qualified candidates are rare commodities. Still, as a hiring manager, you want to be sure you have enough time to review as many qualified people as possible before you hire a DSG candidate. Armed with the position profile, DSG draws upon a variety of sources to identify best-in-class candidates including an on-line recruiter's network, our core competencies' database, and personal knowledge of your industry and your competitors. The search is not complete until you are satisfied you have found your company's next achiever.

The DSG Preliminary interview
DSG interviews the more-qualified candidates to further assess their capabilities and to build enthusiasm for the opportunity and your company. Basically, we conduct the first interview for you, saving you valuable time and effort. Because DSG consultants themselves have experience in hiring and managing sales and selling support professionals, we know the questions to ask and how to accurately assess the breadth and depth of the candidate's background and capabilities. We also require a value statement be written by the candidate to help assure you that this person not only can get the job but can do it too.

Meeting the Candidates
Based on our preliminary interviews and your consent, we will work with you to arrange the first interview with a highly qualified candidate. We make every effort to spend time with the candidate before hand, selling both your company and the employment opportunity. DSG endeavors to send you candidates that are enthusiastic and ready to make a career decision.

Interview Debrief
Post interview, we will debrief with you to assess your level of interest, further refine the hiring profile and improve the quality of the subsequent candidates we submit. Additionally, we debrief with the candidate to assess their level of interest, and assuming the interest is mutual, will work to determine what must be done to further sell the candidate on the employment opportunity.

The Hiring Process
Conducting the hiring process with a recruited candidate is quite different from hiring an unemployed candidate or one who is looking to make a change. These candidates did not come to you, but rather, DSG recruited them to consider your employment opportunity. This difference profoundly affects how the hiring process must be managed. With unemployment continuing to drop and qualified candidates becoming harder and harder to find, interviews with recruited candidates need to be carefully navigated to achieve a successful hire. Here's a few tips on how to successfully steer a recruited candidate to accepting a position in your company:

Sell the Company and the Position 
You and everyone involved in the hiring process are sales people for your company and the employment opportunity its self. As such, everything you do in the interview process will convey the culture and atmosphere of the company.

Make Hiring a Priority
At DSG, we know that you have many competing priorities for your time and energy. We also know that the longer the hiring process takes, the more discouraged both you and the candidate will become. We recommend you make hiring a priority, keep interview appointments and encourage your colleagues to move the hiring process forward in a timely manner. Keep the number of decision makers small and discourage hiring by committee, as it only further delays the hiring process. Again, we cannot stress enough that recruited candidates can quickly become uninterested and you may lose out on hiring the company's next achiever. We can help you to make hiring a priority.

Timely Communications
Whether it's reviewing, resumes of highly qualified candidates or pre-post interview feedback, we at DSG believe that timely communication is critical to a successful hire. Within 24-hours of any activity, we will contact you to discuss further refinements and position requirements.

How is this all accomplished?

DSG can provide you with a multitude of services, which enable us to customize a search or staffing solution for your individual needs.  These services include the following: Retained and Contingency Search, Contract Staffing, Temporary Staffing, and Out-placement.

Retained Search: Assignments are generally reserved for rush or extremely sensitive assignments.  Typically involves a partial advanced payment that gives priority to your assignment.  The full payment is not contingent upon placement Generally, a third at the start, a third at the mid point, and the final third on hire or completion of the contract.

Contingency Search: Payment of search fees is "contingent" on the hiring of a referred candidate.  Based on your requirements, we conduct an in-depth search but only receive payment when we produce results.

Contract Staffing: Allows you to bring in professional-level employees for a specific length of time or for a specific project.  DSG Top Echelon Contracting, Inc. arm allows us to supply our client companies with top-notch professionals for a specific length of time or for a specific project.  The contractor is the employee of our contracting division, freeing our client from administrative problems, tax and workers' compensation issues, payroll, and unemployment liabilities.

Employer of Record™ Rate Calculator: Do you have the perfect candidate, but you don’t want to add him/her to your payroll? Outsource your employment headaches by using our Employer of Record™ service. For a nominal cost we hire the candidate, handle the taxes, insurance, benefits, payroll funding, payroll processing, etc. You pay one simple invoice. How much will it cost? Our Employer of Record™ Rate Calculator will help you determine the hourly rates.

 

Temporary Staffing: For short-term and/or project needs.  Originally used primarily as replacements for office or light industrial workers, temporary help is used across a broad range of skills and occupations to substitute for employees on leave, on vacation, or in emergencies, or to provide supplemental support where there are temporary skills shortages, or to lend technical expertise to specific projects, or for peak load needs.

Out-placement: Designed to assist terminated employees in preparing for and finding new employment through short-term or long-term counseling and support services, on a group or individual basis.
